CRAFTS AND FARM WORKSHOPS - PRESERVATION OF INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE
You are invited to the Šenek Homestead, where you will be shown a piece of an almost forgotten tradition - a demonstration of wool processing. The wool of the indigenous Lake-Solčava sheep breed is of high quality and suitable for processing into a wide variety of products. In winter, the farms were filled with spinning wheels and knitting machines. From socks and cardigans to blankets and small decorative items, the skilful fingers of the housewives produced a variety of products.
FARMING FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION: LET'S MAKE "BUTARCA" AND "PRATA", Sanjava dolina - Cenc Homestead, Godovič nad Idrijo
On Palm Sunday, the farms took the "butara" they had made the day before to the church to be blessed. According to traditional tradition, this blessed butel protects us from lightning. The butara you will make at the Cenc Homestead will be made according to the old recommendations, with a little modern twist if you wish.
